FIVE PRACTICE QUESTIONS
A circuit originally has ten 0.080 A appliances. A revision changes six to a setting drawing 0.125 A; the other four remain unchanged. Before adding any modules, what total appliance current belongs in the revised calculation?
0.800 A
1.070 A
1.250 A
1.550 A
A ceiling strobe is proposed in a 40 × 30 ft room, at X = 10 ft from one end of the 40 ft dimension and centered along the 30 ft dimension. Using the rule that doubles the greatest perpendicular distance to a wall, what square-room size should be checked?
30 × 30 ft
40 × 40 ft
50 × 50 ft
60 × 60 ft
Two equal 12 V, 18 Ah batteries are connected in series for a 24 V fire alarm supply. Which nominal battery bank rating is correct?
24 V, 18 Ah
24 V, 36 Ah
12 V, 36 Ah
12 V, 18 Ah
A design assumes a regulated 24.0 V output, but the selected supply documentation specifies a lower minimum output under secondary power. Which review best addresses end-device performance?
Use the average of the two output values in the drop calculation
Use 24.0 V and increase the battery Ah rating proportionally
Use the documented minimum output with the applicable circuit load
Use each appliance’s nominal current at its highest voltage
Two smoke-control interfaces operate correctly when activated individually, but the simultaneous-input test gives the wrong sequence. Which document is most useful for resolving the intended logic before revising programming?
The device address schedule and circuit labels
The approved cause-and-effect matrix and sequence
The power supply load and battery calculations
The acceptance record for the individual interfaces

LEVEL III SAMPLE REVIEW
Review the system after the assumptions change
Use this Level 3 (Level III) practice sample to check your reasoning on the topics below. These are sample review topics, not a complete official exam outline.
Reconcile the final load schedule
A revised candela setting, added appliance, or changed module can alter the current total. Rebuild the calculation from the final device quantities and settings, then check the equipment limitations that depend on that total.
Test placement against the reference geometry
An offset ceiling device can require a larger enclosing reference than the physical room dimensions suggest. Work from the device location to each wall and check the applicable mounting-height band.
Coordinate intended logic and records
Use the approved sequence and interface documents when evaluating concurrent inputs. Carry accepted changes through the drawings, settings, calculations, and verification records so the design and installed system agree.
Design coordination, submittals, changes, and acceptance planning. Use each missed question to choose a subject for deeper review in your references. These scenarios include field judgment and calculation review; a short sample cannot assess certification readiness.
